Reclamation Exercise Conducted at Granny Hill and Reese Street, Five Cays
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, 4th March 2025 – The Crown Land Unit, in collaboration with the Informal Settlements Unit and the Ministry of Immigration and Border Services conducted a multi-agency reclamation exercise on February 26, 2025. Security services for the exercise were provided by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. This exercise was carried out as part of the government’s mandate to prevent the unauthorized occupation of Crown Lands.
Prior to the exercise, Notices of Illegal Occupation were issued in accordance with the provisions of the Crown Land Ordinance, with respect to structures in Granny Hill and Reese Street, informing those responsible that the developments were unauthorized and in breach of regulations. However, these notices were not complied with, necessitating the removal of the structures by the Crown Land Unit.
