Official Statement from Premier Honourable Charles Washington Misick On the Tragic Killing of Police Constable Kenneth Parker

It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that I extend, on behalf of my Government and myself, heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Constable Kenneth Parker, who was senselessly and tragically taken from us in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Constable Parker dedicated more than thirty years of his life in service to the Turks and Caicos Islands, and his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our people leaves an enduring legacy. He was not only a respected officer, but also a mentor and leader among younger members of the Police Force—a true embodiment of duty and dedication.

His untimely passing is now the subject of a murder investigation, and we must allow the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force the space and time needed to carry out their work. We trust that justice will be served and that those responsible will be brought before the courts without delay.

This heinous act once again highlights the growing cancer of crime that continues to plague our communities. It is a scourge that must be cut out. My Government remains resolute in our commitment to equip the Police with every resource necessary to confront and combat this threat. But the Police cannot do this alone—nor can the Government. It will take the collective will and action of every citizen, every neighbourhood, every community to reclaim peace and safety in our country.

This week, I am making a special appeal to our Church Leaders to lift our nation in prayer during their services, and I ask that every household across these Islands pause and offer a prayer for the Parker family in their grief, for our Police Force, and for the soul of our nation.

May the memory of Constable Kenneth Parker be a blessing and a beacon. May he rest in eternal peace.
